BK has this new sandwich called the big king. which is basically a big mac wanna-be.
so my dad, brother & i tried it tonight. (dad was a surprise, he's a whopper fan all the way) it's so small! for something with "big" in the name, i was hoping for more. the patties are the size of the whopper jr. (which used to be a bit bigger) don't get me wrong, it much tasted better than what i recall the big mac tasting like. (flame broiled vs. fried on some sort of griddle) but it was overall unsatisfying in regards of filling your stomach.
my brother just told me that dad said: "we're not getting anything that small again." to which i replied; "who knew it was that F-ing small?"

5 times elizabeth felt like she was running a kindergarten

a couple of the exploration teams got into a name-calling match that got childish very quickly.

a few scientists got cranky in the afternoons, until elizabeth suggested naps.

some people had a hard time with the concept of “sharing.”

sometimes a disagreement ended with someone sticking their tongue out at the other person.

5 pegasus dishes sheppard could not eat.

john was told it was a desert. frankly, it looked like crap on a plate. maybe it was like the finnish mämmi, but he wasn’t taking any chances. john snuck his portion back on the platter with the rest of it.

they said it was an ale of some sort. it was like a thick milkshake & smelled like cat pee. john dumped it back into the pitcher when no one was looking.

the stuff looked like a pile of cooked ground beef, but had a grey slime on it. john gave it to a dog-like animal that was hanging around.

it looked like the bowl was filled with very large rice krispies. they were making crackling noises, but no milk had been poured on them & john was sure a couple of them moved. he pretended to trip, spilling the whole bowl on the ground.

the fruit looked kind of like an apple, but had a rind similar to an orange. once peeled, the smell reminded john of diesel fuel & the part you were supposed to eat was sort of fuzzy. ronon seemed to be enjoying his, so john gave it to him.

he never knew that vala wanted to throw him a surprise birthday party. daniel explained that it wasn't a good idea to surprise a jaffa.

teal'c never knew that the prank on landry involving shaving cream filled balloons was meant for him. landry gave the perpetrator, mitchell, such a dressing down that he never told anyone about the mistake.

he never knew that vala often took the candles he used for kel'no'reem because she didn't want to bother sam to make some with the mater converter. later when she wasn't busy, vala had her make replacements.

he never knew that sam tried to reproduce his favorite satta-cakes with the mater converter. for some reason they turned out either very dry or hard as a rock. she never said anything because it was one of her few failures.

Five human customs Teal'c doesn't understand

 hugging as a greeting. teal'c sees nothing wrong with hugs, he likes hugs. if he knows the person well.

housewarming parties. is the idea for one to show off one's house? and you're often expected to give a gift of something for the house. when, very often, teal'c thinks the person has enough things.

teal'c doesn't understand most of the customs at weddings. "giving away the bride", the tossing of the bouquet/garter & the couple smashing cake in each others faces. daniel explains the historical significance of most things, but is kind of baffled by the cake thing himself.

he's a little fuzzy on the fine points of tipping. teal'c agrees that a little something extra should be given for good work, but doesn't understand why it should be a certain percent of a restaurant bill.

christening a ship. he understands that people want the ship to stay afloat & all the people who sail on her to be safe. but he thinks the champagne should be drunk by the people present, not smashed against the side of the vessel.

i miss five things

the site officially called it quits about 3 months ago and i'm still missing it. every two week i'd go tackle a new challenge (or two) sometimes i had a hard time keeping up with the ideas as they poured from my brain, other time i had to pull them out with pliers. i liked reading different responses to prompts that i wrote. i'm still amused by the time that every response to 5 languages that daniel doesn't speak & why (or something) included klingon as one of the languages. there will probably never be anything like that again for me.

(where do you find the time to read?) and is your to be read pile fairly big?” Answer: I average 3-4 books a week, but it really depends on how busy I am. I make time, usually an hour or two before I go to sleep. And, yes, my to-read pile is insurmountable. And I’m still buying.
